Bangladeshi expatriate get-together held in Hul 

A get together of expatriate Bangladeshis was held in the city of Hull in the UK, with the aim of strengthening the bonds of community brotherhood. On Sunday (May 10), the event took place at the North Hull Community Centre under various arrangements organized by the Hull Education and Cultural Association. 

Around four hundred Bangladeshis from Hull, Scunthorpe, Leeds including nearby towns joined and enlivened the atmosphere of the get together.

At the beginning of the view exchange event, the meeting was chaired by Matasin Ali Khandakar, president of the Hull Education and Cultural Association and the presentation were conducted by community personalities Humayun Ahmed and Mahmud Hossain. After, recitation of The Holy Quran verse by Abdullah Al Mamun, the event were full scale launched.

The chief guest was Matasin Ali, newly elected councillor of the Central Ward of Hull City Council.  

Solicitor Ansar Habib of Affinity Seven Law Firm, community personalities Sheikh Azadur Rahman Azad, Mushfiq Shahjahan Chowdhury, Anwar Ali Jitu, Abul Kashem Khan, Gulzar Hossain, Mujibur Rahman, Salauddin Ahmed Sohel, Zahed Ahmed, and Zakir Hossain, among others delivered their speeches on the event.

Alongside, M J Kibria, President of the North England TV Reporters Association, Nurul Amin Tarek, General Secretary of the North Bengal Press Club UK, Goyas Khan, Azad Mia, Shalik, among others also presented at the meeting.

Speakers highlighted the contributions of expatriate Bangladeshis, saying that they are successfully playing various roles in the UK society, economy and politics. Representatives from our community are now being elected as public representative. 

The speakers emphasized that Bangladeshis who have contributed to the UK in various ways should take even greater initiatives. The organizers expressed hope that such events would continue.

After the meeting, expatriates from various classes and professions in the community felicitated the newly elected councillor Matsin Ali with banquet. Later, about four hundred expatriates and their family members attending a lunch party.
