188 people died for twice earthquakes in Venezuela

A pair of earthquakes have shaken in Venezuela, recording magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, on Wednesday night, causing widespread destruction of the nation.

Aljazeera reports that authorities have recorded 188 people died so far and 1,500 injured. Authorities alos mention that  Hundreds of people remain unaccounted for, and the death toll is expected to rise.

It is leart that Interim President Delcy Rodriguez has declared a state of emergency for this natural disaster. He has urged to relevant department to do as much as can help and run rescue mission.

According to report, roughly 250 buildings have been destroyed in the seismic activity, leaving approximately 3,000 families without shelter. More structures need to be assessed for stability before reopening.

In the meantime, The US government has pledged $150m in humanitarian aid to Venezuela, a country it has exerted control over since the January 3 abduction and imprisonment of its then-president, Nicolas Maduro.

On the other hand, Aid groups have warned that the disaster risks exacerbating Venezuela’s long-running economic crisis, spurred on by international sanctions and government mismanagement.
